Eucharist

One of those "memories" popped up on my Facebook today. It was from May 6, 2016. You remember, back when we had no fears of meeting together and worshiping without masks and closely packed. Here is what I wrote:

"It has been 5 days and the GLOW from observing the Lord's Supper with our son-in-law Pastor Rich Reaves and the family of God at Lifepath Church still warms my soul. It is not often I get to worship with our daughter, her family, and our son with his family. We were all together, as well as Rich's dad, Bob Reaves and fiance' Sherry Mann Forbish. My son, Greg Brooks was seated on my right and Harper Reaves, my oldest granddaughter was seated on my left. I am always moved by the way the Lord's supper is presented and observed at Lifepath, but this was most special! Following Rich's instructions, when Greg passed the bread to me he looked me in the eye and said, "Dad, this is the Body of your Lord Jesus." as I passed it on to Harper I mumbled something that was supposed to convey the same idea to her. As the wine was passed it was going down the row in the opposite direction. So it was Harper who said to me, "Pop, this is the Blood of Jesus your Savior and Lord, shed to wash away your sins!" (... at least that's what I heard). Again, my emotions must have made it hard for Greg to hear me try to say much the same to him as I passed the cups along. The singing was beautiful in the background and this remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice will be my treasure for a long, long time."

 > Most of the time these "memories" matter little. This one matter's much. Today I am still blessed at 73 after all the years. I am still more thankful to my Savior than words can express. Treasure every moment.

Be good to yourself,

Love,

 Pop
